omfg...
After nearly a decade of looking (literaly, the last time I saw this book and read it was probably a decade ago) I FINALLY found a book i LOVED when i was younger!

Erik of The Dragon Ships.

I don't remember a whole lot about it, and it drove me crazy for years because I couldn't remember the author or title, but I could picture the cover (except, of course, for the space with the title) in my head and I could remember the main characters name was 'Erik', and it was about vikings... but seriously, do you know how hard it is to find a specific book about vikings named Erik? lol

Anyway, tonight I was trying on Amazon again, and I suddenly had this flash of inspiration that I was pretty sure it was relatively old even when i read it... I'd searched 'vikings fiction' and gone tot he 'children's books' results, so then I set it to list by publication date, then went back to dates that I knew HAD to be older than the book I wanted, and started skimming forward...

About 2 pages before I found the books, I remembered that it had something about ships in the title... then as I skim upwards, I find 'Erik of The Dragon Ships' and it was one of those cartoon-ish lightbulb moments... I clicked, and I read the description (which was one pitiful sentence) and I growled because there was no cover image...

So I tried searching Google Images for a cover image. No luck. So then I did a regular google search, and I was checking like every link to look for a cover and coming up empty. Finally, I spotted a result for an E-Bay store, and I looked, and I found it and lo and behold! COVER IMAGE! And it was the right one! Exactly as I remembered the cover!

The Page With The Cover Image

I could remember the boats at the bottom, and the young guy with blonde hair and a red cloak...

and OMFG I FOUND IT! lol...

I'm sort of in shock that I actually found it after so long... lol... next time I buy stuff from Amazon, I'm getting it, too... especially since it's cheaper on Amazon than in the E-Bay store... lol
