Hmm... I wanna write Southland Apocafic...
But not like zombies or demons or anything... just you're normal 'it could potentially really happen' virus pandemic... start it slow, with a lot of people being sick, maybe have Cooper comment on how many people look like crap... then Cooper's ex-wife mentions to him that hospitals are swamped with flu victims... and Cooper decides they really are screwed when the gang violence grinds to a halt due to so many of them being sick... Or have the prologe take place when things have already gone totally to hell and then the bulk of the story is in the past as it slowly gets worse, until finally the story catches up with the prologue...

Of course, my head keeps trying to figure out how to make it a The OC crossover, but I refuse to fit it into my 'Brothers' universe (the 3 Lyrical Ficlets and 'Don't Matter If I Bleed')... maybe a universe where Ryan, like Olivia, is Ben's half brother. Their dad cheated on Ben's mom with Dawn and Ryan's the result and they've known about eachother for a while but don't really know eachother that well until all this goes down... because Ryan's survival instinct? Would totally kick ass in any apocalypse and I can see Cooper being amused that of COURSE he didn't end up with the kick ass brother as his partner...

Anyway, done rambling... lol... I've been reading this awesome book called 'The Thin White Line', which is written as a fictional report following a Pandemic in Canada, and my mind got going on this idea because one of the Canadian cops 'interviewed' for the story? Is named John Cooper and he's kinda gruff and very familiar... lol... so my mind went to OUR John Cooper and... yeah... lol

I seriously wonder how the religious people like 10 feet from me, who are discussing God's feelings on the war (Seriously folks? You don't frickin' know how God feels about it, because if there's a voice in you're ear saying they're God, chances are? They ain't! lol) would feel if they knew I was contemplating a Gay Hero Of The Apocalypse running around with two hot younger guys... lol... especially since I've heard members of this group (they regularly set up a table in the student union) saying crap about Gay = Going To Hell. I once heard one of them basically say that no matter how good of a person you are, if you're Gay, you're evil and going to hell...

Disclaimer: I have no problem with religious people until they start declaring that ANYONE is going to hell for something as simple as who they love. I have a VERY firm belief in God myself, but I personally think God doesn't give a damn who you love, as long as you're a good person. I don't profess to 'know' that's how God feels like these people claim to 'know' God condemns homosexuality, but it's my belief... Sorry, these people just drive me up the frickin' wall with their judgementalness... I think they'd also freak that I'm listening to songs like 'Fuck You' by Archive and 'Come On Closer' by Jem when they're 10 feet from me discussing God... lol

Sounds like an awesome idea!

I can just picture it... things get to a point where Cops are being told to always wear masks... something happens and Ben's mask isn't on, or isn't on right, and Cooper reams him out for it...

I'm tempted to also add Supernatural into the crossover apocalypse here, with Dean griping about how they stopped the frickin' devil and a virus destroys the world? What the hell! lol
