Fic: No Happy Ending (Multi-Fandom fusion with Once Upon A Time)
So, last December, I wrote Snow for one of my 24 Gifts of 2011. It took the basic premise of ABC's 'Once Upon A Time', but with Ryan and Brooke as Prince Charming and Snow White, and my OC Lily as a mix of Henry and Emma (Their daughter who turns up on her 12th Birthday and knows the real story).

This little thing expands it, but moves the story forward quite a bit. It jumps ahead several months in story time from 'Snow', and reveals just how far off from OUAT I would take this story if I actually wrote it... which I'm tempted to do for my Mini-NaNo in August... lol...

I reveal my choice for the Evil Queen, and the reason for her hatred of Snow and Charming (Brooke and Ryan) which is entirely different from the OUAT reason... I just... I kinda like this little universe... I've been trying to figure out who the other characters from The OC and OTH would be (there's a temptation to make Seth be Peter Pan, since the boy never seems to really grow up, even in canon... lol)

"You can't leave!" Lily protested standing between Ryan and the car. "You can't!"

"There's nothing here for me," Ryan said gently. "Maybe out there I'll remember something."

"You can only remember through true love's kiss!" Lily said.

"Lily..." Ryan began.

"You can't leave us."

"I can't stay," Ryan said, though he was doubting himself, doubting his decision. "I have to go and find who I am before I can find my true love for that kiss."

"She's right here in Storybrooke, you just have to go to her."

Ryan bent to place a kiss on Lily's forehead. "I promise, if I don't remember anything, I'll come back and try it your way, Precious," he said with a smile before stepping around her to get in the car.

As he approached the edge of town, Ryan saw two cars blocking the road and slowed to stop. Climbing out, he found himself facing Julie and Lucas. "What's going on?" he asked, every fiber of his being screaming at him to run or, completely irrationally, to fight the mayor.

"You can't leave," Julie said, slowly approaching him. "No one can, I made sure of that when I made the deal."

"What are you talking about, Ms. Cooper?" Ryan asked, stepping back even as one hand moved to his hip, as though to grasp a weapon that wasn't there, that never had been there.

"You know what I'm talking about," Julie said. "I see the way you react to me, to my daughter, the irrational hatred when all we've been is good to you. Just like before. She wanted you, and you rejected her for that... that girl. You rejected my daughter for some girl with half the breeding and none of the nobility!"

Ryan shook his head as images flooded his mind, of himself and a ballgowned Marissa dancing, of chasing Brooke through the woods and demanding she return what she'd stolen. Of forcing himself to place a kiss on Marissa's cheek, and of impulsively kissing Brooke as though he needed to do so to breathe. Of Julie cursing them and Brooke threatening the woman with a sword.

"The Queen..." he whispered.

"You remember," Julie said.

"You did this? You brought us... here?"

"It's a place with no magic and no happy endings," Julie said. Then she shrugged, smiling. "Except for me. And it was suppose to be for Marissa, you were suppose to love her this time."

"I could never love her," Ryan said, the memories coming faster now. Meeting Brooke when she stole a pendant that belonged to his adoptive mother. Returning the pendant to her when he asked her to be his wife. Holding her close as the Queen promised to have her revenge. Kneeling in front of her chair and placing a kiss to her rounded stomach as she combed her fingers through his hair. Kissing her goodbye before he fled the room with their newborn child, their precious daughter, cradled to his chest. "You took it all away..." he said. "You took our happy ending!"

"That was the idea," Julie said.

"You will not got away with this," Ryan said, wishing he had onyl listened to Lily, listened to his precious daughter, when she had begged him not to go.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that, Price Charming," Julie said.

Ryan barely had time to realize that Lucas was no longer beside her before there was a sharp blow to the back of his head and he fell to the ground, vision going blurry. "You won't... Snow will find me."

"I hope she does, so I can kill her," Julie said.

The End

I wanna clarify something that I'm not sure was obvious... if I was reading this I don't know if I'd pick it up, so... lol... Ryan referring to Lily as 'Precious', said as though it was a nickname, was his Charming Memories bleeding through, because from the moment he knew he was going to be a father, he considered his child to be the most precious thing in the world, more so than any jewels or wealth. SO it was sorta foreshadowing of him remembering fully at the end of this part, because the memories have been trying to force themselves to the surface (I figure since he was unconscious when the spell took hold, it couldn't affect his subconscious as deeply as it did the others)...

And yes, Snow/Brooke will rescue Ryan/Charming... eventually... in the mean time the poor boy is locked up in a basement... which of course he equates with a dungeon because it's very similiar to something that happened in my version of Fairytale Land... lol

The main reason I'll probably just write random snippets of this 'verse is because making them stay in character despite the radically different situation is a bit difficult... although changing the Fairytale land motivations does help quite a bit... lol

On another note... yes... I wrote more fic that people actually care at least a tiny bit about! And there may be another snippet of a different fic coming up in a few minutes... I need to do a quick read through to check for spelling errors and stuff and then decide if I really wanna post it... lol... maybe my muses have returned a bit? This one was written in a matter of about fifteen minutes or so... lol

Great choice for Julie as the evil queen and I like the idea of Ryan rejecting Marissa for Brooke. It makes this even more interesting.
