24 Gifts Of 2012 - Day Twenty Three - Moments In Time - Tear My Heart Open
Even more of my new Ryan/Blair universe! Another little collection of random moments in Ryan and Blair's lives together. This one just has two moments, one sad and one happy, where they had their hearts on their sleeves with each other.

Moments In Time - Tear My Heart Open

Blair dropped her purse and coat as soon as she entered Ryan's room and found him sitting with his face in his hands, and went to sit beside him and took his hands in hers. "I'm so sorry," she whispered.

"She didn't tell us the cancer was back," Ryan replied. "She didn't want us to worry, and she didn't want us to try and make her do chemo again... she just wanted to be healthy for as long as possible, and then... I should have... she kept cancelling dinner, I should have stopped by to check on her. I should have made sure she was okay... she kept telling me to focus on school, to think about my future, that she would still be there..."

Blair released his hands to wrap her arms around him. "She loved you and wanted what was best for you," she said. "I'm so sorry, Ryan. I really liked her, for a woman who hated rich people, she was always nice to me."

"I told her about you yelling at Frank," Ryan admitted. "She thought you must be a pretty tough girl to be so brave."

"I wasn't brave," Blair corrected. "But I was more scared that he'd hurt you than I was that he'd hurt me."

"Sounds pretty brave to me." There was a knock on the door, and Kirsten glanced in for a moment before leaving again.

"I may have barged in and completely ignored the Cohens on my way here," Blair admitted, blushing slightly.

"You're gonna make me think we're friends or something, Blair," Ryan replied, pulling away and wiping at his eyes.

"We are friends," Blair replied. "It's just I don't want anyone to know I like spending time with a peasant."

"You are so nice to me Blair," Ryan said, rolling his eyes. "But thanks."

Ryan stopped as he saw Blair standing by the railing, and offered a smile as she turned towards him. "Hey," he said.

"Hi," Blair replied, brows drawn together in confusion. "What are you...?"

"I... this may not be what you want to hear right now, but..."

"I love you, Ryan," Blair blurted out.

"What?" Ryan asked. "You... did you just..."

"I love you," Blair repeated. "I couldn't go through with it, I couldn't marry Louis, because I... I don't love him. I loved the idea of marrying a Prince and living a fairytale, but it's not a fairytale if it's not love. And I don't love him, I love you."

Ryan stepped forward and pulled Blair into a kiss. When he pulled back, he smiled. "I love you, too," he said. "I... I went to see you, to try and convince you not to marry him, and Chuck said you weren't there, that you left."

"How'd you know where to find me?" Blair asked.

"I know you," Ryan replied, reaching up to cup her face in his hands. "I know that you go skating with your dad here every winter, and that when he brought his boyfriend with him a couple years ago, you tripped the poor guy because you were angry that he was interfering with your time with your dad. I just... I figured this was a good place to start."

"And if I hadn't been here?"

"Every location from Breakfast at Tiffany's," Ryan said, smiling as Blair laughed. "And then I would have started on any and every other movie you have ever mentioned, starting with Audrey Hepburn movies."

Blair smiled. "I love you," she said once more. "It took a long time to realize it, but... I love you. I want you, and only you."

"You have me," Ryan replied. "For as long as you want me."

"How's forever sound?"

"Pretty damn good."

"Must you be so uncouth?" Blair said, though she was smiling as she stretched up to kiss him.

The End

There was originally going to be a third one, featuring their daughter, Audrey, as well, but it was a horribly gut wrenching sad one that can't be shared as just a snippet...

One more gift, guys! it'll probably be up fairly early because it's mostly ready now, and anything else I do for it is just a bonus, like the cooked to crispy rind on the ham (shut up, that's the best part of our Christmas dinner, and my Grandma loved it too! lol)...

I'm liking this pairing more and more as I read and re-read these posts.

It's sad that the Nana died, I was kind of hoping to read a future post with the Nana spending time with her great granddaughter, Audrey.

As for the second half, it was really sweet how they got together.

I loved them for a while, then fell out of love, but recently it's come back full force... lol

I was torn about having her die, but... in the end it was best for the overall storyline. And if it helps at all, Audrey's middle name is Sophie...

In my head, Ryan and Blair are always either bickering or sweet, mocking or loving... lol...
